Chevrolet from 1955 through 1967 was placing the Temperature Sending Unit in the intake manifold and starting in 1968 Chevrolet started casting a boss into the side of the cylinder head and some heads even had the boss drilled and taped for the Water Tempture Sending Unit and by 1969 all the cylinder heads were drilled taped.
