The 3.000-inch crankshafts are the most difficult to tell apart. The 283-CID small journal is one of the lightest crankshafts. It is the only one with a completely round flywheel flange "A". The 1967 302 Z-28 crankshaft which is a small journal crankshaft has a notch in the flywheel flange. The 1968-69 302 Z-28 crankshaft which is a large journal crankshaft has a notch in the flywheel flange like the like the 1967 crank but counter weights on the front throw has straight sides "B" and square arms "C" which are chucking pads for machining. The small journal crankshafts have rounded arms. |
