As you can see in Fig 42.1 the 400-CID block has Siamesed cylinder walls (the cylinder walls are connected, allowing NO water flow between them).The 350-CID block has a space between the cylinder walls for water flow.
NOTE all blocks except the 400 and some bow tie blocks are designed with water passages like the 350-CID block.
